Kiana Rose Mottahedan is a London- and New York-based actor, composer, and playwright.
She studied musical theatre at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in the UK, and in May of 2026 she graduated from Columbia University with a Degree in Drama and Theatre Arts and Music, where she was awarded the Joseph Milton Fee Jr. Award in Playwriting 2026 for her play ‘About the Bus Stop’ and the Dasha Epstein Award in Acting.
She has worked with companies in both London and New York, including the National Youth Music Theatre, The Page One Project, and the New York Youth Symphony.
All her artistic pursuits are undertaken with a playful curiosity, a need to discover as much as possible about character, thought, relationships, story, and life. Performing, especially, invites a physical and mental presence that makes space for a connectedness that is lacking in the world right now— it’s beautifully addictive.
As a composer and playwright, she loves to dive into the seams of the multi-coloured coat worn by people who exist between multiple cultures and identities. The stories she tells blend ancient folklore and myth with the magic and wonder of the world we live in, inviting audiences to go about their days with just that little bit of extra wonder and excitement at being alive.
